Criminal Justice - Department Chair

Located within the College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, and one of the oldest programs at the university, the C riminal J ustice Department provides students with a liberal arts education whose focus is the complex relations among crime, law, and society.   Traditional undergraduates and adult online s tudents are prepared for a broad array of careers through a strong grounding in theory coupled with experiential opportunities that reinforce practical, and professional skills. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a strong record of effective organization and administration skills with demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member.

Successful candidates will hold a Doctorate in Criminal Justice or a related social science field, and demonstrate a strong record of teaching, scholarship, and service.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or a related social science field.
• Evidence of increasing academic administrative experience.
• An agenda of scholarship with the potential for peer-reviewed publications and presentations relevant to the field of criminal justice.
• At least two year s of teaching experience in the field of criminal justice or a related social science field.
• The ability to maintain and establish relationships with criminal justice agencies at multiple levels.

Additional InformationThis is a full-time, 12-month position.
